Ben came home from this wedding glowing.

He went on and on about how much these guys loved each other, how much they were able to come out of their shells, and what a great time they all had. This made me so happy because they were so very nervous. This is what I love most about Ben as as a photographer— he thinks he’s so tough but really falls in love constantly. He sees someone nervous and he cares so much about putting them at ease, he witnesses their love for each other and wants to support that love, capture it, do it justice.

Of course, if I told him any of this, he would just make an awkward face and shout “I derp!” before changing the subject or fleeing the scene, but I believe it’s what makes him exceptional. Everything in the photos was experienced, not just posed. Every kiss, every joke, every fumbling moment became a memory and a bond, and I see that beauty and that love in his photos, and I fall in love too.
